Custom Yarn Splitting — How It Works
At Absolutely Yarn, we know that the perfect project calls for the perfect weight. That's why we're happy to split your yarn into smaller cones or cakes, just the way you need it.
Yarn Forms We Offer
- Cone — Yarn wound onto a cone, ideal for machine knitting or large projects. Great for consistent, continuous yardage.
- Cake — Yarn wound into a flat-bottomed cylinder using a ball winder. Perfect for hand knitting — it sits neatly and feeds from the centre.
- Skein — Yarn in a loose, twisted loop. The classic form, often used for hand-dyeing or display. Needs to be wound before use.
How to Request a Split
It's simple! Just leave us a note at checkout in the Order Notes field. Here's a template you can copy and paste:
"Please split into [100g / 200g] [cones / cakes]. I need [quantity] of each."
Examples from our lovely customers:
- "Please split into 100g cakes. I need 3 cakes."
- "200g ones in one cone, please."
- "Please split all into 100g cones."
We'll do our best to accommodate your request. For very specific splits or large orders, we may reach out to confirm before processing.
